Help Us Reach Our Goal

Join us in meeting our goal of sending 1,515 boxes of care packages
by the end of this year to deployed soldiers!! Each box costs approximately $6 to ship totaling $9090 for all.

We get an average of about 75-100 requests a week directly from soldiers and everything done here is on a volunteer basis.

If you'd like to get involved or donate items, give us a shout!! allforhelping@ymail.com

Care packages are the least we can do to show support

and give the thanks deserved for defending our nation.

We will ship to addresses of deployed soldiers provided by friends and family.

Soldiers can also send us their address, so we'll send them goodies!

Check Out All For Helping on Facebook

Hi Friends,
I know it's been a while since we've posted, but we promise to get back into giving you info soon!! However we have been active on Facebook since we have a Facebook junkie as a volunteer! Helping The Homeless In Nashville

We assembled some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and lunch meat
sandwiches, along with fresh carrots to go into our homeless care bags.

My daughter's friend and my daughter making sandwiches.
 Here's some bags being assembled.
They also have handwipes, water, granlola bars, snacks, and toiletries.
The care packages were assembled in the shopping bags we've been collecting each time we go the store.  My goal is to eventually hand out the care bags housed in lightweight drawstring backpacks, so they can be used repeatedly by the recipient. They have been found from a wholesaler for only $0.89 each plus shipping, with a minimum of 1000, so hopefully it will be able to happen soon!

After we packed up the care bags we went to downtown Nashville and handed them out.
Now we are on the road again to a different city....

Kids Supporting Vets

I learned of this toady and felt the need to share because I just love stuff like this. Two girls started this program to help veterans. Check it out and get involved if you can!!

This cause was set up after Caitlyn decided to start collecting donations for her 8th Birthday to go to Walter Reed Medical Center to drop off, however, for reasons outside of their control they were not able to drop of the collection there and began to find another cause. That's where Philadelphia...

I am looking for opportunities to set up at various places (businesses, restaurants, stores, hotels, etc.), for people to write letters of support to deployed soldiers. If you know of a business that would like to host us, please message me! I'm also asking for you to like and share my FB page "All For Helping" to help gain support. Thanks so much!!!

I'm slowly making my way across the country to feed the homeless and show support of the military! I invite you to visit my website to learn more at...www.allforhelping.com

Assembly of Care Packages Continues!

Just finished assembling homeless care bags that are going to take up more space than anticipated in my car. Guess I need to hand them out quicker to free up space! Thanks Maureen and Donna for your help tonight. I'm glad to have also boxed up more care packages for the troops too! The shelves are looking barer.

Getting Ready for the Summer

In preparation for our summer departure, I've been cleaning up All For Helping's "workshop" by creating care packages out of everything that still sits on the shelves. My goal is to pack up the goods and send them off! We are finally able to resume shipping after holding our Memorial Day Fundraiser, thanks again to everyone who came and supported us- it was a great time!

After the summer trip, upon return at the end of the summer, we'll begin collecting and shipping, all over again!
Scout groups the calender is being planned for the fall, so if you'd like to secure your meeting date, send me an email at allforhelping@ymail.com, and I'll get it on the schedule.

Stinger Sprint

We set up at Greenwich School's Stinger Sprint with our supplies for writing letters of support to deployed soldiers. It turned out to be a beautifully sunny day with a light breeze, perfect weather for a 5K!

In addition to letter writing we got crafty and created some items to sell to raise funds for shipping care packages to the troops and for creating homeless care packages.

Smelly Jellies are an aromatic flame-less air freshener.

Our Bath Salts are made up of imported dead sea salts and european sea salts.

(These are all natural sea salts, not to be confused with the ones featured in the media)

A New Change Is Taking Place.....

Thanks to everyone's support of the Women on Their Way contest by Wyndham Hotels, I was able to win! I entered not for personal gain, but for the sheer fact that winning would help increase awareness of what we do at All For Helping and gain more support. I feel silly saying "I won" because I think of everyone involved and supporting All For Helping as a "we" and therefore I will say "WE WON!!!"

Winning turned to be a more than fortunate event. I was under the assumption that only the first place winner was privy to all the gifts that came along with the #1 spot, but to my surprise, all top ten winners received the whole sha-bang.

WE won an HD Flip video camera,
$800 in Visa gift cards, and 200,000 travel points.

Holy smokes, I feel completely honored to represent Wyndham while helping so many others through All For Helping. It was such a nice surprise (actually, way more than nice), to learn that not only would 14 nights of hotel lodging be provided to supplement our time share stays, but that I'd be able to put the gift cards towards creating  more homeless care packages, and off setting the cost of gas somewhat. Plus use the video camera to provide more entertaining blog entries!

The style of this blog is going to change slightly making it more inviting to everyone who visits. We're working on weekly contests- I'm very excited about this, (because some of it is humorous), video entries, and we plan to share our whole summer vacation with you!!! So I'll apologize in advance, if your intentions were to visit here only to see our homeless efforts or troop efforts, but I decided writing 3 blogs would be too much work. I plan to treat everyone as extended family. You'll get to meet my children,  my husband, my parents, and a ton of other family members and friends along the way. Who knows if you cross our paths, you might even see yourself!!

I've already moved all the important  information from this blog to the main website. From there you'll learn of event dates, how to get involved, etc. etc. and from here, we'll engage you for participation! Like I said, contests, videos, questions, invites, and so much more - oh yeah, and reviews. We'll be sharing our opinion on a host of fun stuff, from restaurants to car entertainment.

I'm hoping this journey will serve as an inspiration to others to want to go out into their communities, step outside of their comfort zone, and get involved too- whether it's meeting us along the way to lend a hand, or right in their own backyard. Each activity that takes place, will slowly manifest the world into a kinder place, relative to the butterfly effect!

I hope the change that takes place here will be well received. I plan to implement it over the next few days, to slowly transition it into a new fun happening place to be online! So invite your friends and family and be sure to share on Facebook, let's collectively bring a little more joy into society!!

Thank You Franklin First Graders

We would like to extend a huge Thank You to Franklin Township School's First Grade classes. Mrs. Brown's and Mrs. Onembo's class were extremely helpful in creating care packages to be sent to Marines stationed in Afghanistan. They did an amazing job making a craft, writing a letter, and assembling personal care packages. I'm sure that each package will bring a smile to a soldier's face! Thanks so much for a job well done!!

Any schools that are in the Warren or Hunterdon County NJ area as well as Northampton, PA area, that are interested in scheduling class assemblies use the CONTACT US FORM.

M & M Mars Supports Wounded Warrior Project

M & M Mars created specially packaged
M & M's to  benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. So if you see them in stores - I say "buy them". If I see them in stores- I will. If they sell them in single serve packages I might have to buy them to send to the troops via Operation: Send Some Cheer in care packages!
I think this is way cool!

New Website

All right --All For Helping Friends-- the new website is here!!
You can view it www.sendingcarepackages.com
or
 www.allforhelping.com.

Our next immediate goal is to become a true certified Non- Profit. We need to raise $329 for attorney filing fees and then the cost of the papers to be filed. So we are asking for help in any way you can, we were thinking if each of our friends could donate $1
(which is the equivalent of almost 2 postage stamps, a notebook,
a McDonald's coffee, a donut shop donut, you get the point)
We would be able to file our papers ASAP. Enabling us to do so much more good.

Think of how much less we would bug you for donations. It would be so much easier to send a ton more troop care packages, and homeless bags, with large companies willing to donate  items and funds to help do so.We'd be able to apply for grants, accept donations from corporations,
as well as provide tax deductible donations for everyone.

I really don't enjoy asking for money, it's really not the fun part, but before stepping out of my comfort zone to do so, I am reminded of all the many more people that can be helped, so I did it-- I asked for help!
I'd also like to personally thank each and every person who helps us raise the funds for our filing status change. Words can not describe how thankful I am.

New Site Coming Soon!

Hi Friends,
Don't worry - our page has not been hacked and cleaned up! We have been working on a new website and decided to keep this site as the attached blog- so get ready for a new look. I've been working hard while learning how to build a website. It has become a challenge, I for my own sanity, have to overcome. Hopefully it will be met with much liking, that sure would make it easier on my over critical eye!! Just kidding!! But I am excited to share with you all the new site. As always, suggestions, comments, and questions are always welcomed with open arms, and on the new site- there is a super easy "contact us" form to fill out, and with a click of a button it'll get sent! So keep checking back to see the new site.
Thanks for your patience. If you are bored, you can always visit our Facebook page. Silly postings go up daily.

See You on Tuesday

We will not be open this Thursday, February 9th. Sorry--
But we will be there on Tuesday- February 14th. We look forward to seeing you then!

Now Scheduling Groups For March Dates

We wanted to share that we are now scheduling group's (church, scouts, clubs) for March "Operation: Send Some Cheer" participation dates!!

Host your next meeting at our location and help assemble care packages for the troops! We'll work with you and try to plan it for your regular meeting day and time. If we can make it happen - we will! You can hold a collection prior to your scheduled date to help increase the number of packages to be sent (that's optional)!
If you are interested send a message to allforhelping@ymail, and we'll get you on the calender!

We'll be creating either St. Patrick's Day care packages or Easter care packages. (Not Christmas that's shown above!)

Help Marine John Norton Meet His Goal

YAY!! JOHN NORTON'S GOAL HAS BEEN MET!!
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE BOOK!!
While I was browsing the internet I came across a really cool project being created by John Norton, a marine. He's creating a book called, Deployment Faces. It's a photo diary of ten Marines and how they change both emotionally and physically while on deployment. The first photo will be taken the morning they board their plane to Afghanistan, the last photo being taken upon returning home to the United States.

He's only got 6 days left to complete the funding goal for his project or he doesn't get any of the funds already pledged if his goal isn't met. Check it out online HERE.  Plus he's got really cool t-shirts for pledges!!

Even if you can't pledge yourself, help him gain awareness of his project by sharing it with friends and family as well as liking his Facebook Page.

I hope to see this project come to print because it would make an awesome Christmas or Birthday gift for my husband or son!!

Picture of Our New Location

Here's what our new space looks like. If you look close you'll see our signs in the window!
We're working on trying to get a banner to show the world where we are,
but for now look for the four wheeler (the one I'm really tempted to take for a ride)!!
And... don't listen to the "chalkboard easel" it say's to "Come to the back", or the "Open" sign,
that's RRP's way of letting their customers know where they are now---since they so kindly
let us use their store space-- and that they did not go out of business!
We're so thankful they shared their space with us!
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!!

So if you're coming to see us- walk past the chalkboard,
and look for lights to be on. Our hours are
Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-12:30.

Amazing Day Today!

Today turned out to be AMAZING!! People found their way in to visit at our new location!
We would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to St. Rose of Lima Church in Oxford
for your very generous box of goods to send to the troops.
We put them to good use starting assembly on 78 care packages!
With another 39 waiting for table space. Your donation helped create 117
care packages so far and we still have stuff to use. Thank you so much for everything.

We're asking everyone to check your pantry and see if you can help us finish these packages we started.
We are in need of individual packages of nuts, jerky or beef sticks, and drink mixes.
Then we can get these Valentine's bagged and boxed up --then out they'll go!!

So our 200 bag challenge is almost met! We can do it!! Thanks everyone for all your help.

Let's Make Care Packages!

We just received a donation of about 200 fabric drawstring bags, from friends in Florida,
for Operation Send Some Cheer. Now we need to fill them!

We're working on Valentines's care packages for the troops and we have been sending what we can with what we have, but now.....being given so many bags is like an unwritten challenge to see how fast we can fill them and ship them out! So if anyone has some packaged snacks or individually wrapped anything, they'd like to bring by- we sure wouldn't mind! Help us fill these bags!

Stop in to write out Valentine's to go along with the care packages.
We're at our new location on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 -12:30.

Thanks so much for your help!

Coupons and Coffee a Success and New News!

"Coupons and Coffee" started the day off successfully- thank you to all that made it! While talking coupons, we also created 20 care packages to be sent out today as well! For those who couldn't join us today, we hope you'll grace us with your presence next week!

On another note- we here at All For Helping have many activities planned for the next few months and are putting into action many more, so keep checking our "Current Events" for updates.

It's never too early to start planning, so we just posted details on our summer "Cross Country to Feed the Homeless Tour". Share this page with friends and family to help make it a success!

Soldier Survey on Snack Care Packages

We have been sending numerous care packages to show our support and give our thanks- but we are wondering what snack items are most welcomed and what snack items are not such a hit. If you're a soldier and have 2 seconds, please contribute your feedback to help us send what you really would like to get in a snack care package. Also if you're a solider currently deployed and you haven't received a care package from us- send us your address and will get something in the mail ASAP!! Many Thanks for all you do.

Savvy Shopping Results

We had such a wonderful turnout at our Operation: Send Some Cheer Event in the Phillipsburg Mall, we have made it a year round effort, extending it past it's intended  holiday only season.

While there, we were able to ship out almost 900 care packages to deployed soldiers, almost doubling our original goal of 500! During our final few days, we had a very generous donation of gift cards from the Greenwich Shoprite, which we only spent part of immediately to complete the care packages that needed to be finished, leaving us with a balance. Then on the last day, after packing our things to move, a volunteer , Kelli D., showed up with an amazing donation -- boxes of toothpaste and toothbrushes she secured from a contact at Colgate-Palmolive.

How could we pack up and go home only to wait until next year? We still had some donations left, and gift cards for Shoprite, now toothpaste and toothbrushes!! Finding a new location to continue assembly became imperative. After calling numerous places, only to be rejected- one was finally interested in helping our cause....
