Added Food Drive Site

On Saturday, October 1st, Greenwich Township is holding a town wide yard sale, and so, we have added a food collection site for the day. Donations can be dropped off at 138 Washington Street, a bin will be outside on the front porch.
Also exciting news... you can now listen to the song that inspired the blog....."Get Upset and Get Involved" by the Almighty Terribles....right on our home page!

Norwescap Putting Link on Site!

I spoke to Norwescap today and they agreed to put a link to the blog on their site! Yay! So exciting is the opportunity to have the word spread about the World Food Day Collection through another outlet. I have hopes that this link could help increase the communities participation, and that possibly our collection goal of  500 lbs could be exceeded!

If you are hosting a charity event, and would like it to be listed on our blog, please send me an email. I would love for our "Current Events" list to grow.

World Food Day - Oct. 16th

World Food Day

October 16th

is a worldwide event

designed to increase awareness, understanding,

and informed year-around action to alleviate hunger.

H & K Auto Body, in observance of World Food Day, 

is running a food drive to benefit Norwescap, 

and we need your help! Join our efforts to raise 500 lbs of food

 to be donated to hungry New Jersians across the county.

Dates: The food drive will begin on 9/24 & conclude on 10/16/2011

Goal: We are looking to collect 500lbs of food. Please join in our efforts to meet our goal. We will also be accepting monetary donations that will go directly to the Norwescap Food Program. (make checks to Norwescap with World Food Day in the memo)

Collection Sites: 

• H & K Auto Body Repairs  (Rt 57 in New Village M-F 9-5)
• H & K and Sons  (5th St. in Phillipsburg M-F 9-5)
• The Underdog Stand  (in front of the Greenwich Home Depot T-Sun 9-2)

If any one or  business would like to participate in collecting food, send me an email or give me a call. The more participants we have will help ensure a better outcome.

Get Upset and Get Involved

Trying daily to increase world happiness through utilizing independent grass roots initiative movements. Focusing on one person or cause at a time, while encouraging others to join in.

Inspired by a song "Get Upset and Get Involved" I took my children and set out on a journey to feed some of America's homeless population, while teaching them respect for the planet and other fellow inhabitants. Always trying to reduce our carbon foot print along the way! After such an inspirational few months from New Jersey to California and everywhere in between, we needed to figure out a way to help our local area as well, and this blog was born to do so. We hope you'll get upset and get involved as we did and begin your own journey to better the world! Much Joy to you!
